Let me be clear, it wasn't exactly forty days, it was ALMOST forty - like I think thirty eight or something - that I didn't eat sugar. My man & I have just finished our Whole30 (round 3 for me, round 2 for him) & we were halfway through an awesome & true re-introduction - the first for both of us!
I truly believe this is a perfectly accurate depiction of what sugar does to my body, annndddd I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it probably does very much the same to yours, too. If you have never tried any sort of elimination diet or nutritional reset that covers a strict re-introduction period, then you really don't know. So just don't even talk back (I say with a laugh).
Unfortunately, throughout all of February I had this ebb and flow, high and low, back and forth, with my food choices. I could almost say that re-introduction period wrecked me, but c'mon, I know better than that! It enlightened me!
You've gotta find out what works for you and work around that. Every single individual is different. I know this is how my body reacts, does that mean I'm not going to eat pizza or cookies ever again? Heck no! But I sure as hell am scaling back, slowly but surely, more and more. I've been on a food & self discovery journey since 2012! To say it's a process is beyond truth. I stick with it though, diligently, I make it a practice. Why? It's worth my health and my happiness. Before I know it, I will only be indulging when it is oh so totally and truly worth it. I know I'll get there and you totally can too!
